Bay to Breakers fun.
So last weekend we were in Seattle, but the weekend before that, we attended the famous San Franciscan event of Bay to Breakers.
So when you see the pictures for this event, just remember that its actually a 12k run, that is pretty competitive. Some Kenyan guy ran it in 34 minutes, and won a decent amount of money. As we walked it, we could see people along our left running it, but it was super hard just because of how many people were involved.
Here is the start of the crowd waiting to start. It wraps wraps around here and goes down the street. You can see a tortilla on the ground right at the very bottom of the picture, this is signifigant because that crowd is chucking hundreds of them in the air. We are to far away to really see them, but the whole event had tortillas being chucked.
This is after we turned the corner, but still before the start. Its 8:00am at this point, and people are already drinking heavily. It was common for most of these people especially the dressed up ones to go out at 6am and start drinking early.
The signs in the distance should be legible if you click on the picture, they were just hanging out expressing themselves.
Here is our roommate Sabrina.
A picture of Danielle and Sabrina.
These guys were wearing shorts, but right in front of us they just stripped them off and went in some banana hammock underwear.
Here’s a picture to answer your next question.
Yup they are naked, were quite a few naked people. And no they are not timid.
Around mile one, this is the look behind us. It stretches waaaay back.
About 1/3 of the way, here is a picture ahead of us. You can’t really see it, but theres a hill in front of us full of people.
Us at the top of the hill. You can see the clouds waiting for us in the distance. Boooo!
We are entering Golden Gate Park here, and the clouds are here in force.
Distance within sight!
Whew!
At this point we were on the other side of San Francisco, and no way to get home. We ended up walking 6 miles back home and took a cab home for the last mile as our feet were pretty much dead.
We did stop of a burger and some Ice cream, we felt we earned it.
